Katherine Miller, D.V.M.
Practice Owner
Dr. Kathy Miller was born and raised on the Palouse and is very happy to have her family here! She completed her undergraduate career at the University of Idaho and graduated from Washington State University for Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She did move south to attend school but returned for her husband’s job.
Dr. Miller really enjoys the small-town feel of Moscow and Pullman with the strong influence from the universities. She, her husband Jim, and their four children (Zachary, Sydney, Nathaniel, and Brianna) love the plethora of outdoor activities available on the Palouse.
The greatest influence in Dr. Miller’s career would be Dr. & Mrs. Kubasch, who she purchased the practice from!
Matthew Mason, D.V.M.
Dr. Matt Mason grew up in Spokane, Washington and completed his bachelors degree at Whitworth College, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He is a 2008 graduate from WSU College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Mason and his wife Allison are very happy to be raising their two children here. They have a little boy, Zachary, and a daughter, Julianna.
His greatest passions are spending quality time with his family and volunteering at church. He enjoys outdoor recreational activities, including hiking and fishing. Dr. Mason is an amateur woodworker as well. He enjoys making simple furniture for his home, as well other various wood projects.
Dr. Mason is passionate about internal medicine cases. It is exciting for him to make a diagnosis and be able to solve problems for his clients and their pets. He really enjoys the clients and the satisfaction he achieves by helping them when they are in need.

Katie Cohee
Customer Care Specialist
Katelyn started working at PAWS in January of 2015. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, 5 house rabbits, and 10 chickens. Katelyn and her husband have 2 kids, and everyone keeps her very busy. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets, especially her chickens and bunnies. She loves working at PAWS because it allows her to be surrounded by people who share the same passion for animals that she has.
Bethany Smith
Customer Care Specialist
Bethany started at PAWS in February of 2020. Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, she moved down to Moscow to live with her boyfriend, Caden while he is a student at University of Idaho. Together, they have a betta fish named Wrigley and are excited to add a new furry friend to their home soon. Outside of PAWS, Bethany has a passion for fostering kittens, painting and writing. Working at PAWS means she gets to exercise her love for helping people and pets simultaneously.
Sierra Martinez
Customer Care Specialist
Sierra is a Customer Care Specialist and also Dept Head for this group. Sierra works full time in the summer and breaks and part-time during school at PAWS. Sierra was born and raised in California and moved to Pullman in December 2019 to get a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at Washington State University. She has been a veterinary receptionist for over two years now and absolutely loves it. She is a huge science fanatic and spends any free time listening to music and cuddling with her cat, Tawny.

Chris Lewis
Veterinary Technician
Chris started here at PAWS in April of 2019. She received her undergraduates degree in zoology and her Master’s Degree in Microbiology from Colorado State University. Chris and her husband, Laramie, have 3 cats and 3 dogs. Chris enjoys cooking, biking and hiking when she is not at work. Chris is a 2nd year vet student at WSU.
Sarah Edwards
Veterinary Technician
Sarah started here at PAWS in March of 2019. She is a 2nd-year Vet student at WSU. Sarah enjoys hiking and weightlifting when she is not working. Sarah has 2 cats, Crunch and Baby Bean and a Kenyan Sand Boa, Bubbles.
Noell Swearingen
Veterinary Technician
Noell stated here at PAWS in April of 2019. She spent 2 years at Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista, California. She received her Vet Assistant Certificate at Pima Medical Institute. Noell loves spending time with family and being outdoors when she is not at work. She has 2 cats, Tank and Kitten Little.
Kellee Knopp
Veterinary Technician
Kellee started here at PAWS in August of 2019. She graduated from WSU with a Bachelor’s degree in animal and veterinary science. Kellee lives in Moscow with her wonderful Fiancé, Nick and their 3 dogs; Herbie, Vanellope, and Timber. Kellee plans to go to Vet school and has a passion for large and small animals
Celena Scott
Veterinary Technician
Celena grew up in Buckley, WA, on a small farm then moved to the Palouse in 2009. She has continued her career growth in veterinary medicine as a technician for 8 years! Her dedication and passion for this field has now started her on a new journey by joining the team at PAWS! She hopes to provide the same quality and excellent veterinary care to pets in the Moscow area She has one pet cat named “Maddie” who’s entire day is based around food and enjoys being the only household pet.

Miranda Lima
Technician Assistant
Miranda is one of the PAWS Technician Assistants. Originally from Livermore, California, Miranda moved to Moscow to join the Pre-veterinary program at the U of I (Go Vandals!!). She graduated in December 2019 with a B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in Pre-Health and is currently applying to veterinary schools. She’s had a long time love of veterinary medicine and large/small animals that continues to grow. At home Miranda has a kitty, Salem, who just turned one, and a dog, Roxy, who lives with her parents.
Adriana Lopez-Ayala
Technician Assistant
Adriana is indispensable as a Technician Assistant at PAWS. After completing her BS in Animal Science/Pre-Vet at WSU in May 2019 she started at the Clinic. She enjoys getting to interact with all the cats and dogs and appreciates all of the skills she has gained throughout her time at PAWS. (picture in route).

Spencer
Spencer was found on Spence Road in Moscow by a former PAWS employee. He enjoys taking long leisurely naps in Dr. Miller’s office. His favorite part of the day is when the Fed Ex driver stops by. Spencer sits by the door about the same time every day waiting for a treat from the Fed Ex driver!
